Viens Named to MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

TAMPA, AUG. 9, 2018 -- Junior Evelyne Viens was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, the United Soccer Coaches and Missouri Athletic Club announced on Thursday.

"Evelyne is a dangerous and explosive player," said head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. "Her mentality of the game makes her so deserving of this recognition, and we are so proud of her."

Seventy-seven NCAA Division I men's and women's players were named to the list for 2018. The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year. This year's winners will be announced Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis. A total of 45 players are included on the Women's Watch List.

Viens (L'ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, Canada) has garnered national attention in her past two seasons as a Bull. She has led USF's offense, and become the program's first ever All-American when she was named to the third team by the United Soccer Coaches, last season.

In 2017, Viens had an impressive campaign, leading the Bulls in points (33), goals (12), assists (9) and shots (87). Among her 12 goals were six game-winners, the most in a season in program history. The Canadian topped the USF charts in every offensive category for individual game highs as well.
