USF Women’s Basketball Announces AAC Schedule

TAMPA, Fla. Sept. 20, 2018 – USF women's basketball announced its complete American Athletic Conference slate, rounding out the 2018-19 schedule following the release of the composite schedule from the conference on Thursday afternoon. 

The Bulls will be featured on national television in nine of its 18 conference contests through the league's partnership with ESPN and CBS Sports Network, including a Sunday afternoon contest against UCONN on Jan. 13, 2019. 

USF opens American Athletic Conference play on the road against Temple on Saturday Jan. 5, 2019 at 3 p.m., broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. The Bulls will then return to Tampa to begin their home conference play with the War on I-4 when UCF visits the Yuengling Center on Tuesday Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. on ESPN3. 

USF will then travel to UCONN for its ESPN appearance at 1 p.m. on Sunday Jan. 13. The schedule continues with a two-game homestand against Tulane on Saturday Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. on the American Digital Network, in a double-header with the USF men's basketball team. Memphis will play the foe in the back-to-back home games on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. 

For its third road game in as many trips, the Bulls will head to Dallas on Saturday Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. to face SMU on the American Digital Network. USF will head home for a midweek matchup with Cincinnati on Wednesday Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. on the American Digital Network.

In February, USF will continue the rivalry with UCF but this time in Orlando on Sunday Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. on ESPN2. On Wednesday Feb. 6 USF will visit New Orleans to face Tulane on ESPN3 at 8 p.m. The Bulls will then return home for two games and a 14-day travel reprieve, hosting Houston in the Yuengling Center at 2 p.m. on ESPN 2 on Sunday Feb. 10 and Tulsa on Saturday Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. on ESPN3. 

On Wednesday Feb. 20, USF will face East Carolina in the lone contest with the Pirates in conference play at 7 p.m., before heading back to the Yuengling Center to host Wichita State, its other one-chance opponent of the conference slate on Saturday Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. 

USF will hit the road for its longest stretch outside of Florida in conference play when the Bulls visit Houston on Wednesday Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. on ESPN3 and then travel to Ohio to face Cincinnati on Saturday March 2 at 12 p.m. 

In the regular season finale, USF will face off against UCONN on Monday March 4 at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 at the Yuengling Center.

The 2019 American Athletic Conference Championship will take place March 8-11 in Uncasville, Conn., at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Fifth Third Bank Club in the Sun Dome will also feature new season ticket opportunities. Fans may now purchase bar railing seats in the Fifth Third Bank Club in both men's and women's basketball season ticket packages for the 2018-19 season and reserve their spot in one of the most prime viewing locations in the Sun Dome. Men's and women's basketball fans may also now purchase a season ticket in sections 101-104 that features a pregame buffet in the Fifth Third Bank Club.

USF will open the 2018-19 campaign at Ohio State on Tuesday, Nov. 6 before returning to Tampa to host three straight contests against Albany (Nov. 9), Nov. 15 (Bethune Cookman) and Nov. 18 (Oklahoma).

USF notched its sixth consecutive 20-win season and fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017-18. It marked the ninth 20-win season in program history, with head coach Jose Fernandez at the helm for all nine. The Bulls posted 26 wins in 2017-18, just shy of the program record of 27 set in 2008-09 and 2014-15. 
 
USF has made 14 postseason tournament appearances and had six NCAA Tournament berths in head coach Jose Fernandez's 18 seasons. The all-time winningest coach in program history, Fernandez has guided USF to nine 20-win seasons, two WNIT final four appearances, the 2009 WNIT championship and won more than 300 games.
