TAMPA, SEPT. 22, 2018ย โ The USF cross country team strides into its second meet of the season on Saturday when the Bulls make the short trip north to Gainesville, Fla., to take part in the Mountain Dew Invitational. ย
Hosted by the University of Florida at the Gainesville Women's Club, the men's 8K is scheduled to open the meet at 7:55 a.m., while the women's 5K will follow at 8:30 a.m.
USF opened its season Sept. 7 at the UNF Invitational and saw its men's team take third place and its women's team post a fourth-place finish. Sophomore Matt Neeley (St. John's, Fla.) paced the men's team with a time of 16:46.07 in the 5K en route to a 25th-place finish. Senior Cash Tampa (St. John's, Fla.) took 31st place following his time of 17:06.79.
On the women's side, sophomore Rania Samhouri (Tampa, Fla.) was the top finisher for USF with a 24th-place showing after racing to a time of 11:28.81 in the 3K race. Annie Allmark (Riviera Beach, Fla.) took second for the Bulls and 28th overall with a time of 11:40.97.

The history of USF's women's program consists of five conference and two region championships as well as five NCAA qualifying teams. The USF men's program has produced seven conference championships and three NCAA qualifying teams.
