No. 20/19 USF Travels to Annapolis for Matches Against Navy and Delaware

TAMPA, Sept. 6, 2018 – USF women's soccer will travel to Annapolis, Md., for a pair of matches against Navy and Delaware this weekend. USF will play Navy on Friday at 7 p.m., and Delaware on Sunday at noon.
 
No. 20/19 USF (3-1-0) is coming off a 4-0 shutout against Detroit Mercy last Thursday. Goalkeepers Sydney Martinez and Ricquelle Farquharson worked hard with the Bulls' defense to complete the first shutout of the season.
 
The juniors shined in the Bulls' 4-0 win as Aubrey Megrath (West Palm Beach, Fla.), Andrea Hauksdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland) and Evelyne Viens (Canada) each scored for the Bulls. Viens scored twice for USF with one assist.
 
Navy (2-1-3)
Navy is coming off three straight draws against Maryland, Gardner-Webb and Western Carolina. The Midshipmen recently saw junior Baseley McClaskey named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the week for her third award in three weeks. The defender scored the equalizer for Navy against Gardner-Webb, and helped the Mids keep Western Carolina and Maryland at zero through both matches. Other scorers for Navy this season include senior forward Eleanor Pratt and senior defender Kayla Robinson.
 
Navy has junior Sydney Fortson in goal this season. She has recorded 15 saves, four shutouts and allowed just three goals.
 
Delaware (1-4-1)
Delaware is coming off three straight home contests and recently saw its first win in the form of a shutout when it defeated Lafayette College, 1-0 before falling in similar fashion to UMass, 3-0. The Blue Hens have gotten two goals from upperclassman forwards Riley Curtin (senior) and Dani Kabat (junior). Sophomore forward Riley Dixon leads the team in shots and shots on goal with 10 and six, respectively.
 
Like the Bulls, the Blue Hens have a freshman keeper in goal. Kamryn Stablein has spent 558 minutes in goal with 28 saves, two shutouts and 11 goals against.
