Bulls Finish Third, Fourth at UNF Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, SEPT. 7, 2018ย โ The USF cross country team made its 2018 debut on Friday at the UNF Invitational with a third-place finish from its men's team and a fourth-place showing by its women's team.
Sophomore Matt Neeley (St. John's, Fla.) paced the men's team by finishing in 25th place in the 5K race with a time of 16:46.07. Not far behind, senior Cash Tampa (St. John's, Fla.) posted a time of 17:06.79 en route to taking 31st place.
Rania Samhouri (Tampa, Fla.) was the top female finisher for USF with a 24th-place showing following a time of 11:28.81 in the 3K race. Annie Allmark (Riviera Beach, Fla.) took second for the Bulls and 28th overall as she finished with a time of 11:40.97.
QUOTABLES:
"I think this race helped rid some of the jitters our newcomers were feeling during their first competition. This was a short race and I think we run much better in longer races, so I look for huge improvements in two weeks." โ Head Coach Dena Reif.

USF returns to action Saturday, Sept. 22 when the Bulls travel to Gainesville, Fla., to take part in the Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the University of Florida.

Dena Reifย is in her seventh season as the head coach of USF cross country. The history of USF's women's program consists of five conference and two region championships as well as five NCAA qualifying teams. The USF men's program has produced seven conference championships and three NCAA qualifying teams.
