Viens Lifts No. 20 USF to Victory with Her Second Multi-Goal Game of the Season

TAMPA, Sept. 7, 2018 – Junior striker Evelyne Viens scored the equalizer and the game-winner in USF's 2-1 victory over Navy on Friday night.

The Mids (2-1-4) took an early lead when they scored a header off of a corner kick in the sixth minute. Viens (Canada) responded with the tying tally for No. 20 USF (4-1-0) in the 11th minute when she picked up a pass from sophomore Katie Kitching (Bedale, England) and dribbled inside the 18-yard box before sending in a low shot.

Exactly 11 minutes later, freshman Sydny Nasello (Bradenton, Fla.) earned her second assist of the season when she fed the ball to Viens, who netted a goal from just outside the left corner of the 6-yard box.

Nasello was keeping the Mids' defense on its toes the whole game. She played a full 90 minutes and recorded a close shot from inside the box that was blocked by a Navy defender.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ricquelle Farquharson (Davie, Fla.) had her first career start for the Bulls. She recorded two saves and faced seven shots.
