TAMPA, JAN. 24, 2019 – The USF Track and Field team continues its indoor schedule this weekend when the Bulls head north to Iowa City, Iowa, to take part in the Hawkeye Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa.
In addition to USF, Boston College, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Iowa, Loyola and Marquette are scheduled to compete at the meet.
Competition begins with the weight throw on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex and continues Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with the 60-meter hurdles.
USF enters the week coming off a strong showing last weekend at the Gamecock Inaugural as the Bulls claimed five marks ranked in the top 10 in school history, one individual title and one team victory.
Randall Ceneus (Birmingham, Ala.) recorded the third-fastest indoor time in school history in the 400 meters when he posted a time of 47.56 on his way to a fourth-place finish.
Tequon Terry (Alachua, Fla.) found his way into the USF record books with the eighth-best long jump in school history with a distance of 22-09.75 en route to taking second place.
Junior
Luke Lafferty (Manorville, N.Y.) placed fifth in the long jump and joined Terry in the record books by posting the fourth-longest distance at 23-04.50.
Stone Baker (New Port Richey, Fla.) make his USF debut in style with a second-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 16-08.75, which is good for the sixth-highest mark in school history.
Sophomore
Imani Carmouche (Mt. Zion, Ga.). Carmouche tied her personal best leap and secured the seventh-best mark in school history at 5-07.00 in the high jump en route to a third-place finish. The USF team of
Shenica Bazile (Naples, Fla.),
Destiny Fairley (Jarrell, Texas),
Maya Fabri (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and
Kristin Lubeskie (Central Valley, N.Y.) won the 1600 meter relay with a time of 3:53.57.
