TAMPA, OCT. 1, 2019 – Stars of USF football's past continued their pro careers as starters in Week 4 of the NFL season.

29440Marquez Valdes-Scantling was one of the Green Bay Packers' starting wide receivers for the fourth straight game. The second-year pro from St. Petersburg, Fla., caught three passes for 47 yards (15.7 ypc) in the Packers' 34-27 loss to Philadelphia, which has former USF defensive tackle Bruce Hector on its practice squad.

For the season, MVS has 16 receptions for 217 yards (13.6 ypc) and a touchdown while his career start count is up to 14 games. Valdes-Scantling was selected in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft after setting USF's single-season record with 879 receiving yards while racking up a team-high 53 catches (16.5 ypc) as a senior in 2017.

Marlon Mack made his third straight start (15th of his career) for Indianapolis in the Colts' 31-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders. Indianapolis trailed throughout the game and threw the ball 46 times, so Mack was limited to 11 carries for 39 yards with a long of 18 yards.

Through four weeks, Mack Attack ranks fifth in the NFL with 338 rushing yards on 72 attempts (4.7 ypc) with two touchdowns on the ground. The third-year pro also has caught four passes for 26 yards while playing in all four games.

34685Mack became first running back in USF history to be chosen in the NFL Draft (fourth round, 2017) after producing 3,609 yards in just three seasons (2014-16). Mack was USF's all-time rushing leader before Quinton Flowers broke his record in 2017.

Mack still owns the top USF mark for most 100-yard rushing performances (9) and he's tied with Flowers and senior Jordan Cronkrite (Miami) for the program record of five consecutive 100-yard rushing games. Mack, a three-time all-conference pick, also ranks second in USF history with 32 rushing touchdowns.
