
Fisher Welcomes New Volunteer Coach to USF Men’s Tennis Staff

Lloyd Bruce-Burgess joins the 2019-20 staff as a volunteer coach.
TAMPA, Oct. 17, 2019 – USF men's tennis head coach Ashley Fisher announced Thursday the addition of Lloyd Bruce-Burgess as a volunteer coach. Â

"We are excited to add Lloyd to our team," mentioned Fisher. "His values are aligned with our programs and he brings a wealth of experience with coaching, fitness, nutrition and mental skills training. It's going to be an exciting year for all of us."

Bruce-Burgess comes to South Florida after serving as Director of Tennis for Genesis Health Clubs from 2013-2019 while also owning and operating a residential real estate business in Wichita, Kansas. For growing a vastly underperforming club to one of the top clubs in the Midwest, Lloyd received numerous awards such as Director of the Year in 2015 and 2016.

Lloyd spent time in collegiate coaching prior to his position at Genesis Health Clubs holding assistant coach positions at Wichita State, Fresno Pacific, and Cowley College. Bruce-Burgess also served as a practice partner for WTA #11 and Australian Open singles finalist Johanna Konta while working at the Roddick Lavalle tennis academy in San Antonio, Texas.

Lloyd graduated from Fresno Pacific University with a degree in Communication Studies in 2012. He played tennis at the No. 1 NAIA team in the country, achieving one National Championship and two conference championships with the team.

Originally from the U.K, Lloyd played tennis at the state, national and international levels achieving a career high national ranking of #49 in the men's open division.Â
