TAMPA, Oct. 23, 2019 – The No. 21 University of South Florida women's soccer program hits the road to wrap up its regular season. The team begins a three-game road trip on Thursday, traveling to Cincinnati before moving to North Carolina to take on ECU.

USF (10-3; 5-1 The American) extended its win streak to four in its previous week of matchups and ended its home slate with two wins.

Against UConn, Evelyne Viens (L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, Canada) tied things up shortly after Huskies scored. Emma Davies won the game for South Florida in the 89th minute with her second goal of the season on Oct. 17.

Three days later, Temple visited Tampa for the Bulls' Senior Day. Viens scored her 62nd career goal early in the game, and Andrea Hauksdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland) added an insurance goal on a penalty kick in the 2-0 shutout win for South Florida. Sophomore Sydney Martinez (Rincon, Ga.) made two saves to preserve the clean sheet in goal.

For their efforts during the week, Viens and Brianna Blethen (Bradenton, Fla.) collected various accolades. Viens was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her two goals, one of which she used to break the conference's all-time record. Blethen was named to The American's weekly honor roll and earned a spot on TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Week. The senior helped limit opposing offenses to just five shots on goal across the two games while also challenging enemy goalkeepers. She tallied six shots over the two games and earned an assist on Viens' goal against Temple.

CINCINNATI (6-7-2, 4-2)
The Cincinnati Bearcats carry a 4-2 conference record into Thursday's game. They currently rank third in the conference behind USF and Memphis. The Bearcats are coming off of a 3-0 loss to Houston on Oct. 20.

Cincinnati is led by Jill Vetere on offense. The senior forward has scored six goals and added four assists for 16 total points. Behind her, sophomore forward Sophie Gorman has two goals and two assists for six points. In goal, redshirt sophomore Madison Less and redshirt junior Claudia Eustaquio have split time so far this season. Overall, the Bearcats have a combined 1.69 goals-against average and a .733 save percentage.

USF has a 10-12-4 all-time record against Cincinnati. The Bulls won the meeting last season, 2-1.

ECU (5-8-2, 2-3-1)
East Carolina comes into the week's matches with a 5-8-2 overall record. The Pirates are on a two-game losing streak, having lost to Houston, 1-0 (OT), on Oct. 17 and SMU, 4-0, on Oct. 20.
