TAMPA, NOV. 18, 2019 – USF men's golf continued to add top-level talent to the program with the signing of German junior national team member Luc Breuer.
A two-time German championship winner in his age group, Breuer will join USF as a freshman for the 2020-21 season.

"I think he's got the potential to be an All-American," head coach
Steve Bradley said. "It's a huge get for us. I expect him to have a big impact on us immediately and certainly to make us a heckuva lot better."
Breuer has been a member of Germany's junior national team since 2017 and won the national championship in his age group twice (2016-17). Nominated to represent Team Europe at the Asia-Pacific Junior Championship in Hong Kong, Breur also placed third at the European Young Masters in Norway last year after carding the lowest round at the event (7-under).
Bradley first watched Breuer play for Germany at the European Boys Team Championship in the Czech Republic two summers ago. Bradley said the intelligent, new Bull drives the ball well and has the ability to manage his emotions and the golf course like a veteran.
"Probably the biggest thing I've seen with him, that really good players have, is he's competitive. He hates to lose," Bradley said. "When he does, he internalizes that, goes back to work and tries to get better at it. He kind of reminds me of Albin (Bergstrom) in that way. I think he's a great get for us."
Breuer used his solid skills to place second at the Austrian Junior International Championship (U21) this year. The Pius Grammar School Aachen attendee's golf resume also includes a fifth-place finish at the Scottish Boys Open and a second-place showing at the Dutch Junior Open U21.

"It's big for us to get somebody of that caliber and with that kind of potential to fit in with our young core that's here," Bradley said. "To come be a freshman next year with Luke (Gifford) and Albin being juniors, along with some other juniors, and the freshman class of Sam (Nicholson) and Run (Youprayong) this year, I think addition of Luc really sets us up for continued success for many years to come."
Breuer will join a highly successful USF program that won The American Championship in four of the past five seasons and has competed in NCAA Regionals for seven straight years.
