USF Soccer Adds Two More to Signing Class

TAMPA (Dec. 20, 2019) – University of South Florida head men's soccer coach Bob Butehorn has announced the signing of two more student-athletes to its fall signing class - Josh Gomina and Donovan Hesselmeyer - to National Letters of Intent (NLI).
 
The duo joins Jeffrey "JT" Copper (Tampa, Fla.) and Brian Schaefer (Atlantic Beach, Fla.), who inked NLIs earlier in December.
 
"Josh and Donovan are two outstanding individuals that offer a glimpse of a promising future for our program," said Butehorn. "I expect both to have an immediate impact to a talented returning group. "
 
Gomina, a winger from Sampa, Ghana,, currently attends Avon Old Farms School in Avon, Conn., and plays his club soccer with Black Rock FC. Gomina was named to the 2019 All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Team and All-Western New England Prep School Soccer Association. He also guided the Winged Beavers to the 2018 Sportsmen's Cardinal Classic title.
 
Hesselmeyer, a midfielder from North Ft. Myers, Fla., attends Timber Creek High School and plays his club soccer with the Orlando City Development Academy. He has played in 32 games with 26 starts with Orlando City.
 
This season, USF posted an 11-7-1 record that included a win over No. 5 Louisville and advanced to its 21st NCAA Tournament appearance.
