Sydni Harvey (Nashville, Tenn.) helped the Bulls seal the victory with a free throw and defensive rebound in the final minute of her return to action following a three-game absence.
Freshman guard
Elisa Pinzan (Murano, Italy) added a pair of free throws before the final buzzer and scored eight of her career-high 12 points in the first half that saw the Bulls build a 38-15 lead at the break.

Pinzan matched her previous career high with eight points in the Bulls' impressive opening half. Pehadzic led all scorers with nine points at the break while USF shot 55 percent in the first two quarters on the way to a 38-15 lead.
Pinzan and Leverett scored six points apiece in the first quarter and both combined for four of the Bulls' seven straight made shots during a six-minute stretch in the period on the way to a 22-10 advantage.
USF started the second quarter on a 7-0 run with a Pehadzic three-pointer and two jumpers from Henshaw. The Bulls' defense kept Houston scoreless for the final 4:30 of the period and the Cougars ended up shooting just 20.7 percent from the field in the half (6-for-29).
Houston cut a 21-point deficit in the fourth quarter down to 55-49 with 1:14 to play before the Bulls got three key free throws from their freshman guards.
Quotable
Head coach Jose Fernandez's thoughts on the Bulls' impressive first half and their ability to pull out the victory:
"I thought we defended and it helps when we make shots. But that fourth quarter, that just shows we've got to continue to get better and grow. Their pressure bothered us… But it's a good win. Let's get back to Tampa and get ready to go to Cincinnati."
Fernandez on freshman guard Sydni Harvey's return:
"We wanted to rest her because she needed some more practice time. She hasn't practiced in a while, but she helped us there at the end."
