UNCASVILLE, CONN., March 11, 2019 –Sophomore
Enna Pehadzic (Horsens, Denmark) was voted by the American Athletic Conference Coaches to the All-Tournament Team, announced by the conference Monday night following the championship game.
Pehadzic, who rose to fill the gaps left by injured Bulls, was named second team all-conference by the AAC coaches at the start of the tournament and added all-tournament honors to her resume Monday evening. She led USF in scoring in the Bull's first round victory against Tulane with 23 points, helping the Bulls advance to the quarterfinals. Against Houston, she again scored 16 points, firing away on 7-of-15 shooting from the field to advance USF to its sixth straight AAC semifinal. In the semifinals, Pehadzic added six points to USF's setback to top-seed and eventual champion UConn.
Just UConn players, and one Knight from UCF join Pehadzic on the six-person team. The All-Tournament team consisted of Napheesa Collier from UConn, who was named the Most Outstanding Player of The American tournament by a unanimous vote, averaging 28 points and 13 rebounds. Fellow Huskies Crystal Dangerfield, Megan Walker and Christyn Williams were each named to the All-Tournament team. UCF's Kay Kay Wright and USF's
Enna Pehadzic joined them in earning All-Tournament honors.
Among active players, Pehadzic leads USF in scoring with 11.8 points per game and in conference play with 15.4 points per game. On Feb. 20, Pehadzic exploded with a career-high 35 points, the highest point total by any AAC player this season. Pehadzic was named to the NCAA Starting Five and the AAC Honor Roll for the fourth time this season for her efforts. In 2017-18, Pehadzic had never scored in double figures, but with the chance of a lifetime at her fingertips, she had 19 double-digit outings including six 20+ point outings. She set career highs in every single category since the beginning of the year.
