JACKSONVILLE, March 14, 2019 – USF men's tennis traveled to Jacksonville, Fla., this Thursday to challenge UNF leaving victorious, 5-2.

South Florida (9-5) began doubles play with a 6-2 court three loss to Dominik Baltron and Till Von Winning. No. 77 duo Alberto Barroso-Campos (Montijo, Spain) and Pierre Luquet (Draguigan, France) answered with a 6-4 clean-up of court one. 

Doubles action on court two reached a 6-6 tiebreaker, with UNF earning the doubles point, 7-6 (4).

Up 1-0 heading into singles, the Ospreys tallied another score with a 6-4, 6-1 court five win against Ivan Yatsuk (Minsk, Belarus).

Facing a two-point deficit, the Bulls bounced back with a 6-4, 6-1 court two win by Chase Ferguson (Melbourne, Australia) and a 6-2, 6-2 straight set finish by freshman Sergio Gomez Montesa (Valencia, Spain). Montesa's win improves his singles record to 9-4.

Feeding off the momentum, Luquet gave South Florida the first lead of the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win on court three. No. 29 Barroso-Campos earned his 12th win of the season and clinched the match for the Bulls with a 7-6, 6-1, court one triumph.

After USF secured the match, Jakub Wojcik (Delray Beach, Fla.) won 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8) on court four, his fifth singles win of the season.
