No. 45 USF Gears Up for Georgia State and Tulsa
TAMPA, March 17, 2019 – USF men's tennis will face Georgia State for the second time this season on Monday, March 18th at 1:30p.m., and will challenge Tulsa Wednesday, March 20th at 1 p.m. at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
USF (10-5) is back home after recent wins in Jacksonville, Fla. against UNF and South Alabama. Jakub Wojcik (Delray Beach, Fla.) played a major role in the Bulls's win against South Alabama, breaking the tied match with a court four win, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5).Â
No. 29 singles contender Alberto Barroso-Campos (Montijo, Spain) notched his 13th win of the season last week, including a 7-6, 6-1 court one game clincher against North Florida. Barroso-Campos and junior Pierre Luquet (Draguignan, France) form the 77th best doubles matchup in the country, leading court one for the Bulls with a 7-3 clip.
USF looks to redeem its loss to Georgia State earlier in the season, 4-3, and will face its second American conference challenge this year in Tulsa.

Scouting the Opponents
 Georgia State
Georgia State faces USF in their home territory for the first time since 2009, this upcoming Monday, with two-year head coach Jon Wolf in command.
The Panthers (7-7) last challenged South Florida at the Jerry Simmons Invitational at LSU, where they narrowly defeated the Bulls, 4-3.
Senior Giles Hussey remains strong for the Panthers, sharing singles courts one and two with freshman Roberts Grinvalds., posting 5-6 and 7-4 records, respectively. Hussey is one of four Georgia State players awarded the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week recognition this season, and the only one to win two consecutive weeks.
Fellow Sun Belt Player of the Week honoree, Grinvalds leads the team in doubles action with sophomore Andrei Duarte, maintaining a 7-6 clip on court two.
Tulsa
The Golden Hurricane hunt for their first road win of the season, with Vince Westbrook in his 21st season as men's tennis head coach. The 2019 season has included ranked upsets against No. 23 Oklahoma State, 4-3, and No. 14 TCU, 4-2.
Fellow American conference member, Tulsa (10-8) last saw USF in Oklahoma during the 2018 season where Tulsa left with the win, 5-2.
Ranked members of the Golden Hurricane include No. 52 singles competitor Majed Kilani, swinging 8-7 on the top two courts, and No. 78 doubles pair Joshua Goodger and Borris Kamdem, who are 3-1 on courts one and two. Borris Kamdem is a formidable player when paired with Jarod Hing, dominating the premiere doubles court, 5-0.
Recent AAC Player of the week honoree Kody Pearson leads Tulsa in singles 14-4 between courts two and four. When paired with Daniel Sadall, the duo leads the Golden Hurricane in doubles play, 9-5, between courts three and four.
