Bulls Look to Stay Undefeated in The American, Host Tulsa Wednesday
TAMPA, March 19, 2019 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team will look to continue their conference win streak when they host Tulsa at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
USF (8-7, 3-0 AAC) is coming off of a 4-1 win over conference opponent Wichita State. Senior
Nicole Dzenga (Harare, Zimbabwe), clinched the match with a straight-set victory on court five, 7-6(5), 6-3, win.
No. 46 senior
Ana Roman Dominguez (Burgos, Spain), is a team-leading 10-2 this season in singles with four ranked wins in five ranked singles matchups.
Freshman
Laura Pellicer Perello (Gandia, Valencia, Spain), heads into this week on a six game winning streak, with three of these wins coming on court four, two coming from court three, and one coming on court five.
Senior
Vanja Klaric (Gaborone, Botswana), is riding a three game win streak, with two of these wins coming from straight-set victories. Klaric now has an 8-4 record this season, which is the second best record on the team.
Senior doubles pair Dzenga and Klaric are 7-6 this season and recently took down No. 46 Fatima Bizhukova and Marta Bellucco from Wichita State, 7-5, on court one.

Tulsa
Tulsa (11-6) is coming into this match after beating Bradley, 7-0. The Golden Hurricane has a 0-1 record in The American, with the their only matchup coming against then-No. 22 ranked UCF. Tulsa has a ranked singles player, junior Martina Okalova, at No. 98, with a 6-5 record at the premier spot, with one of her wins over then-No. 40 ranked Oleksandra Korashvil. The Golden Hurricane has a ranked doubles team, the pairing of Okalova and junior Vera Ploner, at No. 15, with a 10-3 record at the No. 1 spot.
