Quotable
Assistant coach Brad Caldwell on the young Bulls finishing strong for a wire-to-wire win:
"It's great. In collegiate team golf, you don't get an opportunity to win all the time and when you do, you want to take advantage of that. We preached all week going in, 'Stay in the present. Stay in the now.' I thought they did a pretty good job of that all week. We got off to really solid start today and we kind of leaked some oil in the middle of the round. The course got tough and the wind switched and started blowing a little harder. We faced a little adversity and they all stepped up and held it together there coming down the stretch. We had the low round of the day again today and you want to win each day."
Caldwell on what a title victory does for USF, which had three freshmen and two juniors in the lineup:
"This is a big stretch of golf we're just starting. This is the first of three in a row before a couple weeks off and then we're almost at conference. You want to continue to build each and every week before we get to postseason. This is just that first step. We're checking off one goal and moving to the next. This gives us confidence and some motivation moving forward."
Caldwell on freshman Albin Bergstrom, who broke school records on the way to capturing the individual title:
"He continues to impress us each and every day. He's the most competitive kid I've had the opportunity to coach and he has the upmost confidence in anything he does. That speaks to why he's been successful. He believes he can hit any shot and more often than not he does."
