Bulls Return to Texas for UIW Invitational

TAMPA, APRIL 11, 2019 – The USF track and field team makes its third trip to the state of Texas this season when the Bulls travel to San Antonio Friday to take part in the UIW Invitational from the Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.

Competition kicks off Friday at 1 p.m. with the pole vault and long jump, while running events begin at 8 p.m. with the 1500 meter run. Field events resume Saturday at 10 a.m. with the triple jump, discus throw and high jump. The 4x100 meter relay starts running events at 2 p.m. and concludes at 4:45 p.m. with the 4x400 meter relay.

USF enters the meet having not competed since taking part in the Florida Relays and Texas Relays at the end of March. Senior David Bell (Jacksonville) placed second in the pole vault at the Texas Relays with a height of 17-04.50, which is the 21st-best mark in the NCAA thus far this season.

Bell also placed fourth in the pole vault at the Florida Relays with a height of 17-01.50 and was selected as The American Field Athlete of the Week for his performance. Freshman Stone Baker (New Port Richey, Fla.) placed 10th in the event and posted the eighth-best outdoor mark in school history with a height of 16-07.50 at the Florida Relays.

On the women's side, senior Stephanie Lambuth (Frankenmuth, Mich.) placed seventh in the pole vault at the Florida Relays and turned in the fifth-best outdoor mark in school history with a height of 12-11.50. Senior Nicole Carroll (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) finished 10th in the pole vault with her height of 12-11.50.
