Third-Seeded Bulls Set for Conference Tournament

TAMPA, April 18, 2019 –  After a 4-1 conference record this season, the USF men's tennis team secured the No. 3 seed for the American Athletic Conference Championships. The four-time American Athletic Conference Champions  will begin action in the quarterfinals against Memphis Friday at 9 a.m.
 
USF completed the regular season 14-7 and advanced in national rankings to No. 46. The Bulls are formidable contenders with a Top 20 singles player in No. 18 Alberto Barroso-Campos (Montijo, Spain), ranked doubles tandem No. 87 Barroso-Campos and Pierre Luquet (Draguignan, France), and the most championship titles in league history. USF boasts an incredible 14-1 record in The American Championship.
 
Scouting the Opponents
Memphis
Memphis earned the No. 6 seed for the American Athletic Conference Championships after an 11-13, 2-5 regular season consisting of conference wins against Temple and SMU. The Tigers bring four previous tournament wins into Friday's match, three of them against SMU.
 
The Bulls have defeated Memphis in all four tournament matchups with the most prominent win being the Conference Championship in 2014, USF's first championship title in The American.
