Bulls Earn ITA Southeast Community Service and Most Improved Senior Awards

TEMPE, Ariz., May 20, 2019 – The ITA recently announced regional award winners for the 2019 season including USF as the Southeast Community Service Award winners, and Ana Roman Dominguez as the Southeast Most Improved Senior.
 
USF women's tennis participated in 170 community service hours as a team, including visiting the Children's Cancer Center, participating in the Great American Teach-In, working with Metropolitan Ministries and Paralympic Sports, as well as serving as mentors for the day at JA Biz Town. The Bulls also held a clinic for local kids in the community after their match against Maryland on March 23, and hosted clinics at two local elementary schools.
 
"We feel it is very important to give back to our community," said head coach Cristina Moros. "The team understands that they are there to serve as role models to the kids in our community, and they take that role very seriously."
 
Senior Roman Dominguez (Burgos, Spain), an American Athletic Conference unanimous first team selection, started strong for the Bulls and continued her hard work throughout her career finishing with a 13-6 singles record in 2019, 41-34 in her singles dual-match career. The 2016 conference freshman of the year battled on courts one, two and three and went on to play USF's top court in every game her senior year, defeating five nationally ranked opponents including the top player in the nation during her senior year.
