Bulls post annual GPA over 3.0 for fourth straight year

224 Student-Athletes Earn Athletics Honor Roll Accolades In the Spring
Bulls log a combined term GPA over 3.0 for ninth straight time
 
TAMPA, JUNE 19, 2019 – USF Athletics saw 224 of its nearly 450 student-athletes earn Athletics Honor Roll accolades following the 2019 spring term as Athletics posted a combined annual grade-point average over 3.0 for a record fourth straight year.
 
USF saw 14 of its 17 teams post a cumulative GPA over 3.0 following the spring term and 249 student-athletes (62 percent) earn a cumulative 3.0 GPA average or better. The Bulls had 30 student-athletes post a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring term and 141 log a 3.5 or better, while 13 teams logged an annual GPA over 3.0 for the just completed 2018-19 academic year.
 
The department logged a combined spring term GPA of 3.08 to extended its record string of consecutive term GPAs over 3.0 to nine straight dating to the spring of 2015.
 
The women's track and field and cross country team led the way on the spring Honor Roll with 40 student-athletes from the program earning the academic recognition. The conference champion softball team placed 25 on the honor roll, while the conference champion women's soccer team had 16 and the conference champion men's tennis team seven. The football team had 24 members earn honor roll recognition, while sailing had 21, men's soccer 16, baseball 15, men's track and field and cross country 12, volleyball 10, women's tennis eight, women's basketball eight, men's basketball seven and men's and women's golf both with seven.
   
USF had 71 student-athletes earn degrees in the 2018-19 academic year and has seen more than 250 earn their degree in the last three years.

USF Athletics sponsors 19 varsity men's and women's teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls' athletic program began in 1965 and is in its 53^rd season in 2018-19. Nearly 500 student-athletes train and compete in the athletic district located on the east end of the campus in Tampa, Fla. The Bulls have claimed 18 American Athletic Conference team titles since joining the conference in 2013, and own 119 conference titles overall. Nine USF programs reached national post-season competition in the 2017-18 season and six were ranked in the Top 25 nationally. The Bulls posted a combined annual grade-point average over 3.0 for the fourth straight year in 2018-19 and have posted a program record nine straight semesters with a combined GPA over 3.0. USF has had more than 250 student-athletes earn their degree in the last three years.
