Bulls Head To AAC Media Days

TAMPA, JULY 14, 2019 – With USF's 2019 season opener rapidly approaching, head coach Charlie Strong and four Bulls players will travel to Newport, R.I., on Monday to take part in the American Athletic Conference Summer Kickoff and Media Days that continue Tuesday at Gurney's Newport Resort and Spa.

Seniors Blake Barnett (QB), Kirk Livingstone (DE), Greg Reaves (DE) and Mitchell Wilcox (TE) will join Strong for the two days of events that will feature 41 student-athletes and all 12 of the league's head coaches.

Events get underway Monday afternoon with media interviews and photo shoots before The American's signature New England-style Summer Kickoff Clambake on the Newport waterfront. The American Digital Network will provide live interviews with selected guests from 7-8 p.m.

Media Day activities ramp up Tuesday with Coaches' Roundtables consisting of three groups with four head coaches each and legendary sports broadcaster Verne Lundquist will serve as the moderator. Strong will join the final Coaches' Roundtable that takes place from 11:10-11:30 a.m.
Lundquist also will moderate the Student-Athlete Roundtable that will include Barnett and players from three other programs. The Student-Athlete Roundtable is set for Tuesday from 11:40 a.m. to noon.

The American Digital Network will be live Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the announcement of The American football preseason poll and coverage will continue with Coaches' Roundtables. Both shows will be available on Facebook (Facebook.com/AmericanConf), with highlights shared via The American's Twitter accounts - @American_FB and @American_Conf.

Additional Coverage
ESPN3 will air live coverage of the Summer Kickoff and Media Days Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. Matt Schick and Rene Ingoglia will anchor the coverage, which will feature interviews Commissioner Mike Aresco and the league's 12 head coaches.

ABOUT USF FOOTBALL
Having completed just its 22nd season of football, and 19th at the FBS level, the USF football program has earned 10 bowl appearances, including a current run of four straight, and owns a record of 6-3 in bowl games. The Bulls have appeared in the national top 25 rankings in each of the past three seasons, including a program record run of 20 straight weeks in the top 25, and in 2018 reached the program's 150th win faster than any FBS program in state of Florida history. USF has posted a pair of 10-plus win seasons in the last three years, including a program-record 11 wins (11-2) in 2016, and logged 15 winning seasons overall.
