Listen to Bulls Beat
Bulls fans can get their daily USF news each morning on Bulls Beat. Darek Sharp hosts a half-hour show filled with exclusive interviews, highlights, full recaps and game previews on all USF sports teams. Bulls Beat can be heard each weekday on Bulls Unlimited, a channel devoted to USF sports 24/7. Search USF on the IHeart Radio app to download the channel. The show repeats each half hour from 7-9 every morning, with an additional airing at 12:30 p.m.

Bulls Weekly Highlights
  • USF football continues to prepare for the season with fall camp practices at the Morsani Complex.
  • No. 18 USF women's soccer opens the regular season with two huge home games against Auburn (7 p.m. Thursday) and Florida (6 p.m. Sunday).
  • USF men's soccer concludes its preseason with home exhibition games against Eckerd College (7 p.m. Wednesday) and the University of Tampa (7 p.m. Saturday) in Rowdies Cup action at Corbett Stadium.
  • USF volleyball returns to competition with two home exhibition matches inside the Corral that are free for fans to attend. The Green & Gold scrimmage is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. before the Bulls host Florida Gulf Coast University on Saturday at noon.

TAMPA, AUG. 19, 2019 – Take a look ahead at the week in USF Athletics and catch up on last week's news:

Football
Important Upcoming Event: USF will open its third season under head coach Charlie Strong with a primetime clash vs. Wisconsin on Friday, Aug. 30 at Raymond James Stadium (7 p.m. kickoff, TV: ESPN). View the 2019 season schedule HERE.

This Week: USF continues to prepare for the season with fall camp practices at the Morsani Complex.

Last Week: The Bulls were able to run through more than 100 plays during their last big scrimmage of fall camp inside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' state-of-the-art indoor facility at the AdventHealth Training Center on Aug. 17. No. 18 Women's Soccer
This Week: The Bulls begin the regular season with two huge home games at Corbett Stadium. USF is set to face Auburn (RV) on Thursday at 7 p.m. and will host Florida (RV) on Sunday at 6 p.m.

Last Week: USF tuned up for the regular season with two exhibition victories. The Bulls defeated Stetson, 6-0, in DeLand, Fla., on Aug. 13 before a 2-0 home win over North Texas on Aug. 16… USF was selected to repeat as the league champion in a preseason poll voted on by the conference's head coaches. Senior forward Evelyne Viens was chosen as The American's Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and joined senior Andrea Hauksdottir as members of the preseason all-conference team. Get more info HERE… Freshman Sophie Shrader is making her collegiate debut with the USF women's soccer team this fall. USF is one of only 14 programs in the nation to have multiple women's watch list selections for the most prestigious individual award in college soccer that is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year. Men's Soccer
This Week: USF continues its preseason with a home exhibition game against Eckerd College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. … USF's final tune-up for the regular season is the Rowdies Cup on Saturday. The Bulls' exhibition matchup with the University of Tampa is set for a 7 p.m. start and this year's game will serve as a fundraiser for the Children's Cancer Center of Tampa. Find out more HERE.

Last Week: The Bulls started their preseason exhibition slate with a 2-0 victory over Eastern Florida State College on Aug. 17 at Corbett Stadium… Get head coach Bob Butehorn's thoughts on USF's progress this preseason HERE.

Need to Know: USF's season opener against defending national champion Maryland has been moved to Thursday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. from its original date of Friday, Aug. 30. Volleyball
This Week: USF will continue preparing for the regular season with two home exhibition matches inside The Corral. The Green & Gold scrimmage is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. before the Bulls host Florida Gulf Coast University on Saturday at noon. Both matches are free for fans to attend.

Last Week: The 2019 USF Volleyball Golf Outing took place on Aug. 17 at Bardmoor Golf & Country Club in Largo, Fla. All proceeds benefited USF volleyball.

About USF Athletics
USF Athletics sponsors 19 varsity men's and women's teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls' athletic program began in 1965 and is in its 53rd season in 2018-19. Nearly 500 student-athletes train and compete in the athletic district located on the east end of the campus in Tampa, Fla. The Bulls have claimed 18 American Athletic Conference team titles since joining the conference in 2013, and own 119 conference titles overall. Nine USF programs reached national post-season competition in the 2017-18 season and six were ranked in the Top 25 nationally. The Bulls posted a combined annual grade-point average over 3.0 for the third straight year in 2017-18 and have posted a program record eight straight semesters with a combined GPA over 3.0. USF has had more than 250 student-athletes earn their degree in the last three years.
