Bulls Placed at No. 21 in Latest TopDrawerSoccer.com Rankings

TAMPA, Aug. 26, 2019 – South Florida moved seven spots to No. 21 in the week two poll from TopDrawerSoccer.com. South Florida went 1-1 last week against two SEC opponents. After defeating Auburn, 2-1, in stunning fashion in the season opener, USF broke the program attendance record against Florida in a 2-0 loss.
 
The Bulls were chosen to finish first in the American Athletic Conference this season by coaches and feature two members of the preseason all-conference team in seniors Evelyne Viens (L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, Canada) and Andrea Hauksdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland).
 
Denise Schilte-Brown's squad keeps up the intensity heading into the second week of the season. The team goes on the road for the first time this year to face off against Saint Leo on Thursday before returning to Corbett Stadium to battle Ohio State on Sunday.
 
Notables
  • Viens scored the first goal of the season only four minutes into the new year. It was her 49th career goal. Sydny Nasello (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) scored the game winner with 18 seconds remaining to secure the win over Auburn.
  • Viens, Hauksdottir, and freshman defender Lucy Roberts (Cheshire, England) were all recognized in TopDrawerSoccer.com's Preseason Best XI rankings. Viens was placed on first team, Hauksdottir secured a third team ranking, while Roberts was placed on the freshman team.
