Bulls Remain Undefeated With 5-2 Win Against Stetson
TAMPA, JANUARY 20, 2020– South Florida women's tennis beat Stetson,5-2, to increase their program record to 8-0 against Stetson. The match, originally scheduled for Sunday, was played on Monday due to expected inclement weather.

Grace Eland (Manchester, England) and
Laura Pellicer Perello (Gandia, Valencia, Spain) won their match early, 6-2, giving USF an early edge in doubles play. On the other two courts, neither team could find an edge. Eventually, on court one,
Amelie Boy (Trianon, Mauritius) and
Alexandria Mjos (Austin, Texas) pulled it out for the Bulls, 7-5, to secure the double point for the Bulls.

With South Florida having a 1-0 lead heading into singles play, Perello quickly scored the first singles point over Danel Ashirova in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.

Evelyne Tiron (Bucharest, Romania) and Boy kept USF's momentum by winning their matches within seconds of each other. Tiron defeated Stetson's Brooke Milner on court three while Boy stopped Katie Kubicz on court one, giving USF a decisive 4-0 lead. While Boy's win clinched the match for the Bulls, play continued on the other three courts.

Stetson was able to put two points on the board when Noa Cohen won, 6-3, 6-2, over Mjos on court four, and Laia Pasini scored the Hatter's second point, winning in straight sets over
Margriet Timmermans (Bergen Op Zoom, Netherlands).

Lucia Garrigues (Valencia, Spain) wrapped up the match for the Bulls, closing out court five by defeating Lucie Renault in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to extend the Bulls lead to 5-2.
