USF Returns Home to Face North Florida

TAMPA, Feb. 1, 2020 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team is returning to the USF Varsity Tennis Courts this Sunday against University of North Florida. The Bulls have beaten UNF in each of the past four seasons and hold a 9-1 record against the Ospreys.  
 
South Florida (2-2) is coming off two hard fought losses against No.1 Stanford University of Denver at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Kickoff Weekend Tournament at Stanford. Previously, the Bulls gathered a two-match win streak to start the season.
 
"Looking forward to a tough battle against a talented UNF team tomorrow" stated Coach Cristina Moros. "We always have very competitive matches with them, and I know tomorrow will be no different. I know our group is ready to compete after learning a lot from our experience in California last weekend."
 
Scouting the Opponent:
University of North Florida
North Florida is currently 3-0 on the season, as they have faced FAMU, Flager, and Cornell. North Florida has new leadership this year with Catherine Dunagan as the head coach and former Bull that graduated in 2018, Ana Roman Dominguez as the assistant coach.
 
North Florida is the reigning Atlantic Sun Conference Champions. The Ospreys are led by Senior No.112 Lucia Montano that posted a 11-2 singles record and won the ASUN player of the Week last season. Also, North Florida is 8-0 in doubles matches this season.
