Bulls Win Three Titles at Howie Ryan Invitational

HOUSTON, TEXAS, FEB. 14, 2020 The USF track and field team captured three individual titles and registered three marks that ranked among the top 10 in school history on Friday at the Howie Ryan Invitational.

Senior Adriana Janic (Malmo, Sweden) claimed the individual crown in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.58 seconds. Fellow senior Stephanie Lambeth (Frankenmuth, Mich.) placed first in the pole vault with a height of 4.00 meters (13-1.50).

Junior Javonia Ellis (Lake Minneola, Fla.) won the long jump with a leap of 5.99 meters (19-8.00).

Sophomore Stone Baker (New Port Richey, Fla.) turned in the third-highest indoor pole vault height in school history with a mark of 5.25 meters (17-2.75) on his way to placing third in the event.

Freshman Danelson Mahautiere (Roseau, Dominican Republic) took eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.96 seconds. Junior Justin Peter (Tallahassee, Fla.) etched his name in the USF record books in the 60-meter hurdles with the sixth-fastest indoor time in school history at 8.09 seconds on his way to placing sixth.

Freshman Monte Parker (Plantation, Fla.) took third in the 400 meters with a time of 48.61 seconds en route to recording the eighth-fastest indoor time in school history. Senior Derwin Moultrie (Miami) placed third in the 800 meters with a time 1:55.75.

The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Parker, Taquon Terry (Alachua, Fla.), Luke Lafferty (Manorville, N.Y.) and Moultrie finished third with a time of 3:19.44).

Terry (Alachua, Fla.) also finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 7.09 meters (23-3.25), while sophomore Arielle Boone (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) took fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.84 meters (38-10.25). Junior Imani Carmouche (Mt. Zion, Ga.) placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.70 meters (5-7.00).

"We had some people win individual events and achieve personal bests," USF head coach Erik Jenkins said. "We will take the positives and move toward championship season with a better understanding of where we can still improve."

USF returns to action Friday, Feb. 28 when the Bulls travel to Birmingham, Ala., to take part in the AAC Track and Field Championships.
