BIRMINGHAM, ALA., FEB. 28, 2020 – Senior Stephanie Lambeth captured the pole vault individual title and registered the second-highest indoor height in school history to highlight competition for the USF track and field team on day one of the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.

Lambeth turned in a height of 4.13 meters (13-6.50) to earn all-conference honors and surpass her previous top mark of 4.10 meters (13-5.75) she posted in 2017 at Hoosier Hills.

"Stephanie did a great job today," USF head coach Erik Jenkins said. "She achieved two personal bests in route to claiming the AAC pole vault title. We are really happy for her."

USF continued its success in the pole vault when Stone Baker (New Port Richey, Fla.) took third in the event on the men's side with a height of 5.11 meters (16-9.25) to receive all-conference accolades. His finish marks the second straight year that he has scored at the indoor championships.

Janic also posted a time of 8.50 in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles to qualify for the finals.

"Adriana gave a gallant effort in the final event of the pentathlon to secure the second place showing," Jenkins added.

Distance runner Alexandra Weir (Toronto, Ontario) advanced to the finals of the mile run after placing 11th in the preliminaries with a time of 5:00.42.

Sophomore Shaneylix Davila (Kissimmee, Fla.) qualified for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.49 seconds and a fifth-place finish.

Senior Derwin Moultrie (Miami) registered the eight-fastest indoor mark in school history in the 800 meters with a time of 1:53.55 en route to a fourth-place finish in the preliminaries. Moultrie will race in the finals on Saturday at 2:10 p.m.

Junior Javonia Ellis (Lake Minneola, Fla.) picked up one point after finishing eighth in the long jump with a distance of 5.83 meters.

Senior Taquon Terry (Alachua, Fla.) scored four points in the long jump with a distance of 7.10 meters (23-3.50) on his way to a fifth-place finish. Fellow senior Luke Lafferty (Manorville, N.Y.) added three points by following Terry in sixth with a distance of 7.09 meters (23-3.25).

"We had several other athletes achieve personal bests and score in good competition," Jenkins said.

USF also received two points from its women's distance medley team and one point from the men's team.

Competition resumes Saturday at 10 a.m. (EST) with the final three events of the heptathlon.
