Bulls Drop Match to JMU, 5-2
TAMPA, MARCH 12, 2020 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team suffered a hard loss to James Madison University on Thursday afternoon, 5-2.
JMU picked up the first doubles win, but freshman
Grace Eland (Manchester, England) and sophomore Laura Pellicer (Gandia, Valencia, Spain) made it even with a 6-4 win. In the decisive doubles match, JMU pulled it out in a 7-5 tie breaker to take the doubles point.
Senior
Janvhi Clark (Tauranga, New Zealand) attempted to regain the momentum for the Bulls with a stellar performance winning in straight sets, 6-0,6-2, to tie the match. The Dukes then rallied back to take the next three singles matches in straight sets to clinch the win.
Pellicer defeated Jona Roka 6-3,6-1, to pick up another singles court for South Florida finalizing the score at 5-2.
