USF Returns Home To Face Lehigh

TAMPA, March 7, 2020 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team returns to Tampa to face Lehigh University at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts. South Florida is now 4-6 on the season after picking up a match against North Texas and dropping two hard fought matches against Memphis and TCU.
 
Before the match, the University of South Florida women's tennis team and coaches will be honoring their late Team IMPACT teammate, Elizabeth Jones. There will be a green bench inscribed with "Team Warrior" along with Elizabeth's name that will be located at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
 
"We have been preparing for this day for a long time, to honor a fallen teammate" stated Coach Cristina Moros. "This day is going to be about Elizabeth, and I know the team will fight for her and all that she stood for against a talented Lehigh squad."
 
Scouting the Opponent:
Lehigh
Lehigh is 5-4 on the season, coming off a lost to Buffalo. The Mountain Hawks is under the leadership of head coach Sarah Hendrix and assistant coach Hannah Fleckenstein.
 
Lehigh is led by senior Sibel Can, who plays the No.1 spot in singles with a 4-3 record on the season along with junior Paula Gonzalez at the No. 2 spot holding a 5-1 record in singles. Can and Gonzalez are 4-1 in doubles together at the No. 1 for the Mountain Hawks.
