Kamen Wins UCF Cross Country Invite to lead USF to Team Title

ORLANDO, JAN. 23, 2021 – USF sophomore Nickolas Kamen (Naples, Fla.) won the UCF Cross Country Invite to lead the men's team to a first-place finish Saturday morning in the opening meet of the 2020 season.
Kamen turned in an 8K time of 25:02.01 to help the Bulls capture their first team title since winning the USF Invitational last season in Tampa.
Sophomore Ben Kailes (Jacksonville, Fla.) took second with a time of 25:17.3, while Misha Kakoulin (Gettysburg, Pa.) finished in sixth place with a time of 26:13.5.
Senior Kaleigh Biss (St. Petersburg, Fla.) paced the women's team with a 5K time of 18:47.0 en route to a fifth-place finish, helping the Bulls take second place overall.
Freshman Hannah Offenback (Monticello, Ill.) was next for USF with a sixth-place showing with a time of 18:57.1, and sophomore Alexandra Weir (Toronto) finished in 10th place with a time of 19:40.01.
USF returns to action Saturday, Feb. 6 when the Bulls travel to Wichita, Kan., to take part in the AAC Cross Country Championships.

Erik Jenkins is in his second season as the head coach of USF cross country. The history of USF's women's program consists of five conference and two region championships as well as five NCAA qualifying teams. The USF men's program has produced seven conference championships and three NCAA qualifying teams.
