TAMPA, Fla., October 28, 2021 โ The University of South Florida cross country team returns to Lakeland to compete in the American Athletic Conference Championships hosted at Holloway Park. The men's 8K starts at 8 a.m., while the women will follow at 8:50 a.m.
This will be the final time the Bulls charge through Holloway Park before focusing on national meets. Both men's and women's teams have had success on the course with both taking first at the SEU Fire Invitational and HOKA FLRunners.com Invitational earlier this season. Last season, the men's team turned in an eighth-place finish while the women posted a 10th-place showing.ย
USF will face the reigning men's and women's champions No. 8 Tulsa in the conference matchup. The Golden Hurricanes have won two straight AAC women's titles and seven straight men's titles. Top individual performances from Cincinnati, Memphis, and Wichita State also pose a challenge for USF in its quest to advance.ย

About USF Cross Country
Erik Jenkins is in his third season as the head coach of USF cross country. The history of USF's women's program consists of five conference and two region championships as well as five NCAA qualifying teams. The USF men's program has produced seven conference championships and three NCAA qualifying teams.
