USF Finishes Competition at AAC Cross Country Championships

LAKELAND, Fla., October 29, 2021 – The University of South Florida men's and women's cross-country teams took part in the American Athletic Conference Championships on Friday at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla. The men's team posted a ninth-place finish and the women's team turned in an 11th-place showing. 
 
In the men's 8K, sophomore Nickolas Kamen (Naples, Fla.) was the top finisher for USF with a time of 25:55.8. Kamen finished 37th overall and beat his previous time of 26:30.80 from last year's 2020 AAC Championship. 
 
On the women's side, freshman Kelly Lynch (Wilmington, Del.) led the Bulls with a time of 23:26.7 in the 6K event.  
 
Up next, the USF returns to action on Friday, Nov. 12 at the NCAA South Regionals held in Huntsville, Ala.
 
About USF Cross Country
Erik Jenkins is in his third season as the head coach of USF cross country. The history of USF's women's program consists of five conference and two region championships as well as five NCAA qualifying teams. The USF men's program has produced seven conference championships and three NCAA qualifying teams.
