Women’s Soccer Earns Fifth-Straight NCAA Tournament Appearance

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 8, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's soccer team will host a first round game in the 2021 NCAA women's soccer tournament after securing a fifth straight season with a conference championship. The Bulls earned an at-large bid to the tournament, entering Selection Monday as the No. 22 team in the NCAA's RPI.
 
The Bulls drew a first-round matchup against NC State which will be played at Corbett Stadium at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14. The NCAA tournament match will be the first time the two meet on the pitch.
 
South Florida plays in the top-left portion of the bracket as an unseeded team. The USF/NC State winner will move on to play the winner of the Pepperdine/South Dakota State game in the second round on Nov. 19, followed by the winner of the No. 1 Florida State/South Alabama/SMU/Texas pod in the third round on Nov. 21.
 
The 2021 College Cup will be played at Stephens City Stadium in Santa Clara, Cal. on Dec. 3 and 5.

The Bulls have made the NCAA tournament in 2010, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. The Bulls advanced to the second round five times, reaching a program-best finish in the third round in 2019.
 
South Florida captured its sixth American Athletic Conference title in the last five seasons by winning the 2021 AAC regular season title. The Bulls also have won the regular season titles in 2018 and 2020, along with the tournament title in 2017, 2019 and 2020.
 
Head coach Denise Schilte-Brown's squad finished the 2021 regular season with an 11-3-2 record, including a 6-1-1 mark in conference play, then finished with a 1-0-1 record in the American Athletic Conference tournament, drawing in the title match and ceding the championship to Memphis on penalty kicks.

South Florida has five consecutive seasons with a conference championship, earning the tournament title in 2017, 2019 and 2020 as well as the regular-season title in 2018, 2020 and 2021. The program had its first draft pick and second-highest pick in USF Athletics history with Evelyne Viens being taken with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft by Sky Blue FC, now Gotham FC.
