TAMPA, FEB. 13, 2021 – The USF track and field team makes its way to Houston, Texas, for the second time this season when the Bulls head to the Space City Saturday to take part in the third installment of the H-Town SpeedCity Series.
Competition begins at 11 a.m. (EST) with the weight throw and concludes at approximately 5 p.m. (EST) following the 4x400 meter relay. Â
In the first meet of the season, freshman jumper
Shaniya Benjamin (Tampa, Fla.) etched her name in the record books after turning in a distance of 19-6.00 in the long jump to register the fifth-longest indoor mark in school history on her way to a second-place showing.
Junior
Arielle Boone (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) took seventh place in the triple jump and featured the 10th-best indoor distance in school history with a leap of 39-1.00.Â
In running events, hurdler
Shaneylix Davila (Kissimee, Fla.) recorded a time of 8.44 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries to register the fifth-fastest indoor time in school history en route to a second-place showing. Davila would go on to place fourth overall with a time of 8.52 seconds in the finals.
Junior
Patricija Roshofa (Limbazi, Latvia) raced to a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.78 in her USF debut.

The USF track and field team has produced 22 All-America selections since 2008 and at least one All-American in nine of the last 11 years. 2016 graduate Matthew O'Neal is USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. USF has posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). The Bulls hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary at the USF Track and Field Stadium.
