TAMPA, Feb. 5, 2021 – The reigning American Athletic Conference champion University of South Florida women's soccer team begins its 2020 season, moved to spring 2021, with an away match against Florida Atlantic.
The Bulls kick off their campaign in search of their fourth straight conference title, having claimed the AAC tournament championship in 2017 and 2019 and the regular season crown in 2018, at 1 p.m. in Boca Raton, Fla.
This is the 17
th meeting between the two teams. USF holds the advantage in the all-time series, 8-6-2, however the Owls won the last meeting, a 1-0 game in 2014 at Corbett Stadium.
Scouting the Owls
Florida Atlantic dropped a 5-1 season opener against Utah Valley State on Thursday. Junior Thelma Hermannsdottir scored the lone goal for FAU, assisted by senior Sammy Vitols.
The Owls finished 15-4-2 in 2019, ending its postseason run in the Conference USA championship game. The squad is looking to defend back-to-back C-USA regular season titles in 2021.
