Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

No. 34 Bulls Extinguish Liberty Flames, 4-3

Tampa, March 10, 2021 – The University of South Florida men's tennis team earned its fifth consecutive win against Liberty Flames. After securing the doubles point, Bulls captured three singles courts in their 4-3 win.

No. 38 Chase Ferguson (Melbourne, Australia) and Pierre Luquet (Draguignan, France) sailed over opponents Deji Thomas-Smith and Christiaan Worst, 6-1. Duo Jakub Wojcik (Delray Beach, Florida) and Alvin Tudorica (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) clinched the match in a 7-6 (7-3) tiebreak, putting the Bulls in the lead heading into singles.

The Bulls kept momentum heading into singles as Tudorica defeated Thando Longwe-Smit 7-5, 6-3. Ivan Yatsuk (Minsk, Belarus)  came back to force three sets over Deji Thomas-Smith in his 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win, putting the Bulls within one. Wojcik's 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 success over Josh Wilson officially sealed the win.
