Dennis, Leblic Earn American Athletic Conference Weekly Awards

TAMPA, Fla., March 15, 2021 – Two University of South Florida women's soccer student-athletes were chosen for American Athletic Conference weekly honors, the league announced Monday. Chyanne Dennis was named Defensive Player of the Week and Paula Leblic earned Offensive Player of the Week honors.

"We're so proud of Paula and Chyanne for their continued efforts on the pitch every week. Paula has come in and really done well learning our tactics to perform at this level every week. Chyanne is our rock on defense and I'm so happy she's being recognized for her efforts. Five shutouts takes a team to accomplish and I'm so proud of them for their ability to get it done on the field."

Dennis (Sunrise, Fla.) received her second consecutive honor after the Bulls posted a program-record fifth consecutive shutout on Saturday. South Florida defeated the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 3-0 while only allowing three shots, with two going on goal. So far this season, USF has only allowed 22 total shots, with only seven of those going on goal.

Leblic (Madrid, Spain) scored two goals, including the game-winner, against the Golden Hurricane. She opened the scoring in the seventh minute and tallied another in the 40th minute in the victory. She now leads USF scorers with three goals on the season and seven points.

The No. 17 Bulls are back in action this Sunday at 6 p.m. against the UCF Knights for the latest battle in the War on I-4. Due to virus mitigation measures and the size of the venue, fan attendance is via team pass list only at Corbett Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
