TAMPA, FLA., MARCH 24, 2021 – The USF track and field team continues the 2021 outdoor season Thursday at 2 p.m. when the Bulls travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to take part in the FSU Relays at Mike Long Track. Â
Competition begins Thursday at 2 p.m. with the hammer throw and concludes at 9:20 p.m. with the women's 5,000 meters. Â
The meet continues Friday at 10 a.m. with the discus throw and wraps up at 1:50 p.m. with the women's 4x400 meter relay.
"Traveling to Tallahassee for the FSU Relays will provide another opportunity for us to compete in a quality meet," USF head coach
Erik Jenkins said. "There will be representatives from many of the best conferences in the country, and we look forward to the opportunity to compete against some of the nation's best."
The Bulls are coming off a home meet that saw USF win three individual titles and capture three relay victories last weekend at the Bulls Invitational.
Jae'Nisa Heckstall (Phoenix, Ariz.) won the 100-meter hurdles and etched her name in the record books by racing to a time of 13.63 to claim the individual title and record the fourth-fastest outdoor time in school history.
Freshman
Jasmine Knowles (Nassau, Bahamas) was also an event winner by taking first in the 400 meters with a time of 55.20. Her mark stands as the 10th-fastest in school history, surpassing the previous mark of 55.40 set by Amber Delpino in 2002.
Sophomore
Alexandra Weir (Toronto, Ontario) earned an individual crown by taking first in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:46.64.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team of
Stefone Moore-Green (Sicklerville, N.J.),
Dre'Shaun Sanders (Kansas City, Mo.),
Duncan Agyemang (Kumasi, Ghana) and
Jovan Ferguson (Miami, Fla.) won the event with the 10th-fastest time in school history at 3:13.76.
The women's 4x400 meter team of Heckstall,
Patricija Roshofa (Limbazi, Latvia),
Gabrielle Derosiers (Chicago) and
Shaneylix Davila (Kissimmee, Fla.) won its race with a time of 3:43.96, and the 4x100 meter relay team of Derosiers,
Kadesha Prescott (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago), Heckstall and Roshofa won with a time of 45.12 to post the third-fastest time in school history.

The USF track and field team has produced 22 All-America selections since 2008 and at least one All-American in nine of the last 11 years. 2016 graduate Matthew O'Neal is USF's first six-time NCAA All-American.
