Bulls Set School Record on Day Two of FSU Relays

TALLAHASSEE, FLA., MARCH 26, 2021 – The USF track and field team set a school record in the women's 4x400 meter relay to highlight competition on the second day of the FSU Relays.

The quartet of Gabrielle DesRosiers (Chicago, Ill.), Shaniya Benjamin (Tampa, Fla.), Jasmine Knowles (Nassau, Bahamas) and Patricija Roshofa (Limbazi, Latvia) won the race by posting a time of 3:38.32 to surpass the previous school record of 3:38.51 that has stood since 1998.

The women's 4x100 meter relay team also enjoyed success on Friday, as Jadaja Baxter (Sandy Springs, Ga.), Benjamin, DesRosiers (Chicago, Ill.) and Zahria Allers-Liburd (Miami, Fla.) finished in second place with a time of 45.12 seconds to tie for the third-fastest time in school history.

The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Elijah Wright (Naples, Fla.), Stefone Moore-Green (Sicklerville, N.J.), Dre'Shaun Sanders (Kansas City, Mo.) and Toluwani Adebakin (Lagos, Nigeria) registered a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:16.14.

Graduate student Dee Jennings (Crosshill, S.C.) placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.24 seconds to record the sixth-fastest time in school history.

"There were a lot of impressive performances at this meet," USF head coach Erik Jenkins said. "For an early season meet, we were able to get some quality things done. Our vaulters had a good weekend and so did the women's relays."

USF returns to action Friday at 12 p.m. when the Bulls return to the USF Track and Field Stadium to host the South Florida Invitational.
