TAMPA, Fla., March 26, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's soccer team travels to Houston for a conference match as it looks to remain perfect in league play at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
The Bulls are coming off a 2-1 win against UCF last weekend in the War on I-4.
Sabrina Wagner and
Sydny Nasello scored to lift the Bulls to victory in the rivalry matchup.
USF leads the all-time series against Houston, 11-4. USF won the last meeting in 2019, a 3-1 victory in Houston and currently holds a seven-match winning streak in the series. Houston's last win came in 2004, a 2-1 OT decision in Texas.
Opponent
Houston (4-3-1, 1-3-0 AAC) is coming off of a 1-0 overtime loss at Cincinnati on Wednesday. The Cougars have victories over Houston Baptist (3-1, Feb. 4), Texas Southern (8-0, Feb. 10), Rice (2-0, March 11) and Tulsa (4-1, March 21) and losses at ECU (1-0 OT, Feb. 13), at Memphis (1-0, March 14) and Cincinnati. They also tied UTSA on Feb. 24.
On offense, the Cougars are led by Jazmin Grant (3g, 3a), Mia Brascia (3g, 2a) and Zionah Browne (3g, 2a). Salma Ghazal has played 557 minutes for Houston so far this season, posting a 0.65 GAA and a 0.810 save percentage.
