TAMPA, FLA., March 8, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's tennis team suits up to end its four-match homestay against No. 24 Furman University, scheduled for 12 p.m. on Monday, March 8.

Due to virus mitigation measures and the size of the venue, USF will not allow fans inside the USF Varsity Tennis Courts complex.

South Florida is coming off of a win against Toledo, 6-1. The match featured strong singles play with the Bulls winning five courts in straight sets. Lucia Garrigues (Valencia, Spain) earned her first singles of the season, 7-5, 6-3 on court six.
Margriet Timmermans (Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands) continues her streak and picked up her first win, 6-1, 6-0, on court five and moved her overall singles record to 6-0. Alex Mjos (Austin, Texas) got her fifth win in a row and first win on court four this season, 7-5, 7-6.
Grace Schumacher (Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia) and
Laura Pellicer (Gandia, Valencia, Spain) also picked up wins against Toledo.

Scouting Furman
The Paladins are 9-6 and currently ranked No. 24 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Furman is coming off of a 4-3 loss against No. 18 UCF this Saturday, March 6.

Furman has one player ranked in the ITA Singles Ranking: Katarina Kozarov (No. 15), who holds a 11-1 record at the No. 1 spot. They also have the No. 27 ranked doubles pair of Kozarov and Julia Adams.
