No. 12 Bulls Casts Out the Blue Devils in NCAA First Round
GREENSBORO, N.C., April 27, 2021 – The No. 12/15 University of South Florida women's soccer team scored three goals in the second half to defeat the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils, 3-0.
Chiara Hahn (Lauterbach, Germany),
Vivianne Bessette (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) and
Paula Leblic (Madrid, Spain) all scored for USF in the victory.
Sydney Martinez (Rincon, Ga.) and
Katrina Haarmann (Caledon, Ontario, Canada) combined for the shutout.
Defenses prevailed for both teams in the first half. USF put on most of the pressure, ___.
After the break, Hahn opened the scoring with a header goal for USF in the 52
nd minute.
Katie Kitching (Bedale, England) earned the assist on the goal. Leblic added to the Bulls' lead in the 64
th minute, expanding USF's lead to 2-0.
Bessette capped USF's offensive showing with her third goal of the season in the 71
st minute, scoring off an assist from Leblic and ending the scoring at 3-0.
