TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 15, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's soccer team begins its 2021 conference schedule as East Carolina visits Corbett Stadium for a mid-week matchup. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Bulls are looking to continue its success after a draw to FAU and a 1-0 victory over Miami.
Scouting the ECU Pirates
East Carolina has made its way through nonconference play with a 4-4-0 record, with wins over VMI, High Point, Campbell and VCU.
Peyton Godbey and Kim Stanford have both scored two goals to this point, leading ECU. In total, nine players have registered a goal for the Pirates. In net, Maeve English has played the majority of minutes so far for ECU, posting a 1.51 GAA and a 0.692 save percentage.
The Series vs. The Hurricanes
USF has dominated the all-time series against East Carolina, leading the series 10-2-1. The Bulls won both meetings in 2021, including a semifinals matchup in the conference tournament, while ECU's last win came in 2004.

The USF women's soccer team has posted eight consecutive seasons of 10-plus wins and nine in the last 10 years under head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. The Bulls made their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2010 and returned in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. South Florida has won four consecutive conference championships, earning the tournament title in 2017, 2019 and 2020 as well as the regular-season title in 2018 and 2020. The program had its first draft pick and second-highest pick in USF Athletics history with Evelyne Viens being taken with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft by Sky Blue FC, now Gotham FC.
