TAMPA, Fla., September 16, 2021 โย The University of South Florida Cross Country team travels north to Tallahassee to compete in their second race of the season at the FSU Invitational. The Bulls are coming off a successful showing at the Southeastern University Fire Invitational in Lakeland, Fla., where they placed first in both the men's 5K and women's 3K races. Junior Ben Kailes and Nickolas Kamen led the pack with top two finishes on the men's side as Andie Gonzalez and Hannah Offenback checked in at spots three and four for the women.ย

The FSU Invitational features nationally ranked teams, such as hosts' Florida State, Stanford, Furmanย ย and theย women's defending national champion BYU.ย ย

"We are looking forward to competing on one of the nation's premier courses this weekend. It will provide a fairly young and inexperienced group with an opportunity to compete on the same course that will host the NCAA Division 1 Championship."

The men's 8K will commence at 7:40 a.m. and the women's 6K will follow suit at 8:10 a.m.

Following the FSU Invitational, the Bulls head back to Lakeland for the FLRunners.com Invitational on Friday, Oct. 1.ย
About USF Cross Country
Erikย Jenkinsย is in his third season as the head coach of USF cross country. The history of USF's women's program consists of five conference and two region championships as well as five NCAA qualifying teams. The USF men's program has produced seven conference championships and three NCAA qualifying teams.
