TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 15, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's soccer team closes out its regular-season non-conference schedule with a trip to Fort Myers, Fla. for a matchup against Florida Gulf Coast.

Scouting the FGCU Eagles
Florida Gulf Coast sits at 3-4 on the season, with wins over the University of Tampa, FIU and FAU.
Two players are tied for the lead in points on the Eagles. Ashley Labbe (1g, 2a) and Zoey Spitzer (2g) both lead FGCU so far this season. Mia Krusinski and Katie Sullivan have split time in net for Florida Gulf Coast this season, posting a combined 2.14 GAA and a 0.674 save percentage.

USF leads the all-time series, 2-1. Both of the last two meetings have come in the NCAA tournament. The Bulls' last win was in 2017, a 3-0 win at Corbett Stadium. FGCU's last victory came in the 2015 NCAA tournament, a 2-1 victory in Tampa.

The USF women's soccer team has posted eight consecutive seasons of 10-plus wins and nine in the last 10 years under head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. The Bulls made their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2010 and returned in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. South Florida has won four consecutive conference championships, earning the tournament title in 2017, 2019 and 2020 as well as the regular-season title in 2018 and 2020. The program had its first draft pick and second-highest pick in USF Athletics history with Evelyne Viens being taken with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft by Sky Blue FC, now Gotham FC.
