TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 24, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's soccer team will look to maintain its perfect record in conference play and on the road against Tulsa on Friday.
USF is coming off a 2-1 win over FGCU in the team's non-conference finale.
Sydny Nasello (Land O' Lakes, Fla.) scored both of South Florida's goals in the win, while
Paula Leblic (Madrid, Spain),
Vivianne Bessette (Montreal, Quebec, Canda) and
Lucy Roberts (Cheshire, England) all registered assists.
Scouting Tulsa
Tulsa is one of four AAC teams sitting at 0-1 in conference play, but holds a 5-4-1 record this season with wins over Creighton, Central Arkansas, Kansas City, Oral Roberts and APB. Its conference loss is against Cincinnati.
Isold Runarsdottir leads Tulsa with 13 points via six goals and an assist, while Liliana Fernandez sits seven points behind her with two goals and two assists. Emma Malsy has played the most minutes for Tulsa so far, posting a 1.73 GAA and a 0.694 save percentage.

USF leads the all-time series, 6-1 and is currently on a six-match win streak. The Bulls last win came last season, a 3-0 victory in Tampa, while Tulsa's last win was in 2014, a 3-2 2OT victory in Tulsa.

The USF women's soccer team has posted eight consecutive seasons of 10-plus wins and nine in the last 10 years under head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. The Bulls made their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2010 and returned in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. South Florida has won four consecutive conference championships, earning the tournament title in 2017, 2019 and 2020 as well as the regular-season title in 2018 and 2020. The program had its first draft pick and second-highest pick in USF Athletics history with Evelyne Viens being taken with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft by Sky Blue FC, now Gotham FC.
