TAMPA, Sept. 26, 2021 – The USF men's golf team will return to action Monday and Tuesday in Lake Forest, Ill. after earning a second-place finish in their first action of the season at the Marquette Intercollegiate Tournament.
 
The Bulls will battle a 14-yeam field on the par 71, 7,000-yard Lake Shore Country Club. Over the past 100-plus years, some of the most renowned architects in golf history have had an influence on the Club's course—from Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. to Tom Bendelow and Donald Ross to the most recent renovation by Ron Prichard.
 
The field includes, No. 21 North Florida, No. 25 Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Kansas, Notre Dame, Washington, Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, Marquette, Kent State, Cal Poly and UC Davis. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
 
The Bulls line up for the Windon Memorial is junior Albin Bergstrom (Falsterbo, Sweden), sophomore Run Youprayong (Bangkok, Thailand), junior Luke Gifford (Boca Raton), sophomore Sam Nicholson (Atlantic Beach) and junior Ian Peng (Chang Hua, Taiwan). Competing individually at the Windon will be freshman Shubham Jaglan (Delhi, India)
 
THE BULLS
The Bulls enter the tournament with defending American Athletic Conference Tournament champion Albin Bergstrom leading the way after a fourth-place finish (11-under par) in the Bulls' opening tournament at the Marquette Intercollegiate.
 
The Bulls posted a total of 28-under-par at Marquette, with Run Youprayong placing 11th (6-under-par) and Luke Gifford 46th (1-over-par) joining Bergstrom among the Bulls' top finishers.
 
About USF Men's Golf
USF men's golf program has captured 17 conference titles, including in 2021, and have seen players earn 19 All-America honors. From 2015-18 the Bulls captured four consecutive American Athletic Conference Championship titles in wire-to-wire fashion, had three individual conference champions and have earned eight straight trips to NCAA Regionals. The program is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 20 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2021-22 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
