TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 29, 2021 – The University of South Florida women's soccer team will honor its 2021 senior class on Thursday as it plays host to conference-foe Houston.
South Florida is coming off a 1-0 double-overtime victory over Tulsa which pushed its conference record to 2-0-0 this season. USF has not lost in its last 13 games against conference opponents, dating back to the regular-season finale in 2019.
Lucy Roberts (Cheshire, England) was named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the win, while game-winning goal-scorer
Madeleine Penman-Derstine (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and
Sydney Martinez (Rincon, Ga.) were named to the conference's weekly honor roll.
The Bulls will recognize 10 seniors for the mark they left on the program prior to the match.

Scouting Houston
Houston is currently fourth in the conferencce with a 1-0 record and has posted a 9-1-1 record so far this season. Houston defeated UCF to begin conference play, a 1-0 victory in Houston.
Nadia Kamassah (5g, 1a) and Zionah Browne (2g, 7a) have both posted 11 points for Houston. In net, Mikaela Gracia has handled nearly all of the minutes for the Cougars, allowing six goals for a 0.64 GAA and a 0.750 save percentage.

USF leads the all-time series, 12-4. The Bulls are on an eight-game winning streak, with the last win coming in March, a 3-1 victory in Houston. The Cougar's last win came in 2004, a 2-1 win in overtime in Houston.

The USF women's soccer team has posted eight consecutive seasons of 10-plus wins and nine in the last 10 years under head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. The Bulls made their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2010 and returned in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. South Florida has won four consecutive conference championships, earning the tournament title in 2017, 2019 and 2020 as well as the regular-season title in 2018 and 2020. The program had its first draft pick and second-highest pick in USF Athletics history with Evelyne Viens being taken with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft by Sky Blue FC, now Gotham FC.
